English Music Festival

An invitation to the English Music Festival in Horsham, Sussex, afforded the opportunity of a more romantic British song recital. Nostalgic post-war songs from Frank Bridge, Ireland and Gurney were contrasted with lighter songs by Gustav Holst and Doreen Carwithen, before a finale of Madeline Dring’s delightful and witty settings of John Betjeman.
